All of the Greeneville City School System schools had a scheduled school-based retreat to kick off the new school year on Friday, August 1. These events are lead by the school principals and are an important activity designed to create a vision for the coming year.
While school retreats were taking place, the school system's central office staff had some time to gather for their own kick-off event. A picnic lunch was provided and a few important topics related to having a successful school year start were discussed. Topics discussed included reorganization of central office responsibilities, annual required training, and the importance of having a positive attitude. Dr. Ailshie also reminded everyone present that they are all educators and the focus of all central office work is to serve students.
As evidenced by pictures included in the photo album, everyone had a great time and are committed to making the 2008 - 2009 school year the BEST ever!
