Masks Optional for GCS Students When Outdoors Effective Immediately

As communicated in the Greeneville City Schools (GCS) Framework for Safe Reopening of Schools, GCS would be responsive to the current conditions in relation to the pandemic. As conditions have improved within the community, the decision has been made to make masks optional when students are outdoors. The mask requirement will remain in effect indoors at this time.

Greeneville School Board Approves Proposal for Elementary Virtual School

Greeneville City Schools will provide a full K-12 online learning program beginning in the 2021-2022 school year through a partnership with Bristol City Schools. The Greeneville Board of Education approved a proposal Monday night to begin development of kindergarten through 5th grade online school option for the district.

GCS Awarded School Bus Grant

The Greeneville City Schools Transportation Department is proud to announce they have been awarded the Diesel Emissions Reduction Act School Bus Rebate grant of $20,000. These grant funds will be applied toward the purchase of a new school bus that will have cleaner emissions than older diesel models. GCS is only the 3rd school system in the state of Tennessee to be awarded this grant from the Environmental Protection Agency.
