Amy Renner Named GCS Family Resource Director

Renner is a 1984 graduate of Greeneville High School. She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Work from Tusculum University and a Master of Arts Degree in School Counseling from East Tennessee State University.  She began her education career at the Greene Technology Center as the Vocational Assessment Coordinator for the Greeneville City and Greene County school systems as well as several regional business and industries. Three years later, Amy began her school counseling career at GMS where she served until her retirement in May.

Amy was married to Jerry Renner for twenty- five years until he passed away in July 2016. They have four children and six grandchildren.

“I am so honored to be selected as the Greeneville City Schools Family Resource Director. I am excited to work with our students and families as well as our school system staff. This is a wonderful opportunity, and I am very thankful to work for such a wonderful school system,” stated Renner.

We feel her knowledge of the students, parents, and Greeneville community will certainly be a plus in this position. Most of all, we feel her passion for supporting students and their families and the vision she has for the Family Resource Center will certainly be an asset to our district.”
