GCS’s Nutrition Director, Johnna Beard, Earns Highest Credential Offered by the School of Nutrition Association

Johnna Beard of Greeneville City Schools has earned the credential of School Nutrition Specialist (SNS), the highest credential offered by the School Nutrition Association.  Mrs. Beard has served as School Nutrition Director since June 2017. The letter received from the School Nutrition Association states that Mrs. Beard earned her credential by first meeting rigorous academic and work experience requirements, and then by successfully passing a nationally standardized test for School Nutrition Program management.  She shares this honor with only 1,450 other School Nutrition professionals nationwide who have passed the credentialing exam since it was established in 1997. The School Nutrition Association is a nonprofit organization of over 55,000 members that encourages the highest standards in School Nutrition programs.

“We wish to thank Mrs. Beard for her hard work and dedication in earning this designation,” says Ellen Lipe, Chief Financial Officer, “I know she will use her new credentials to help lead her department to the next level.”

Mrs. Beard , “I’m excited to have earned the School Nutrition Specialist credential. I think it definitely shows my commitment to School Nutrition and our students.”
