Beverly Miller, Assistant Director of Schools for Administration and Chief Technology Officer for the Greeneville City School System, was named the recipient of the “Tennessee School Business Official of the Year Award” during the Tennessee Association of School Business Officials, TASBO, Conference in Murfreesboro on November 14, 2018. The prestigious award is only presented to one school business professional in Tennessee during any given year.
“I feel so blessed to have been chosen for this award. I love working in the school business arena and am so thankful for an opportunity to serve students and educators. There are so many deserving individuals across this great state. I would like to thank TASBO for this tremendous honor,” states Miller.
Miller spent the first ten years of her career working at MECO Corporation. She has been a member of the Greeneville City Schools team since 1995, having served as Chief Technology Officer from 1995-2012 and then as Assistant Director of Schools for Administration/Chief Technology Officer from 2012 until the present.
Miller was also named the 2013 TETA (Tennessee Educational Technology Association) Dr. Howard Sisco Chief Technology Officer of the Year. Other awards include receiving the TETA Directors’ Award, the ETETA Member of the Year for both 2003 and 2007, and the ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education) Making It Happen Award. Miller was also named the most outstanding student in her undergraduate Business Management program, as well as being named the top student in the Tusculum University MBA graduating cohort of 2015.
Miller is active in her community and volunteers with many organizations including Gifts for Kids and Isaiah 117 House. She is a graduate of the Leadership Greene County Program and is an active member of Susong Memorial Church. She and her husband, George, have two sons, a daughter-in-law, and two grandchildren. She is the daughter of Don and Brenda Warren.
